The night before we ended up going to the London Eye. I would recommend going on the London Eye, but only at night time since London does not have the greatest skyline during the day light hours, but at night, when the city is lit up, it's beautiful. We had excellent timing considering the fact that the line was short and once we made it into the line, the queue just grew even more after us. As we were walking up to the get into one of the eggshell looking carriages on the Eye, I fell. Not completely but, I looked like I was trying to ice skate on pavement. It was hilarious. And scary. It took about 45 min to go all the way around which was perfect. Towards the end of the "ride" you are allowed to stand in a photo box and have your picture taken, sort of like at Disneyland when you are on Splash Mountain....minus the thrill. No one in our whole carriage was moving towards the box, so my sister and I found this to be the opportune moment to cast out our greatest "model" pose. When the ride came to an end, we went into the souvenir shop to see our stunning faces giving the best pose ever. It was too good! We laughed till we were the last ones in the shop and then we figured it was a good time to head back to our hotel.
So our first FULL day in London, down to the breakfast hall we went, which was just croissants and fruit. MMMMMM sooooo filling. Not. After breakfast we wandered around London. we went to Trafalger Square to eat lunch. We went into the British museum to kill some time, since it was so very cold out. Then we headed to Pret-a-Manger again to eat. And get on our phones.
Since we got a later start to our day, the sightseeing was a bit limited. Plus we were cold, so that also affected our tourist vibes. We did go to Buckingham Palace, and St. James Park which were of course, entertaining and freezing cold. We spent the entire day walking around, ride the tube, and being complete goof balls. It was a very good day.
